The Tara Stringbag is a spacious project bag, perfect for those who want to keep yarn, knitting needles and accessories in one place. The large size makes it ideal for both small and large craft projects.
The bag is sewn from upcycled Indian saris in silk or viscose. The interior is lined with cotton and the quilted exterior gives the bag both structure and a soft feel. As each sari is different, each Tara Stringbag is unique in pattern and color.
The name Tara refers to the Buddhist goddess Tara, who symbolizes compassion, strength and protection. As a silent reminder, the bag carries its mantra: “Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha ” – a wordless message of peace and inner balance.
The Tara Stringbag is produced in Nepal in collaboration with a local organization that trains women from marginalized communities to sew. By choosing this project bag, you support recycling, women’s empowerment and beautiful craftsmanship.
