This delicate necklace is carefully hand crocheted by Turkish and Syrian women living in Istanbul and Hatay – an area near the Syrian border that was hit hard by the devastating earthquake in early 2023.
The necklace is not just a piece of jewelry, but a story of tradition, resilience and hope. It helps keep the region’s beautiful traditional crafts alive – and creates an important income for both local and displaced women in the area.
