Care Instructions – Handmade Linen Placemats from Malaika

These exclusive placemats are handmade from fine Egyptian linen and embroidered with care by Nubian women in Egypt. To maintain quality and beauty, we recommend the following gentle care:

Washing

– Hand wash in cold to lukewarm water (max 30°C)
– Use mild detergent without bleach or enzymes
– Avoid washer and dryer
– Dab gently on stains – avoid rubbing, especially on embroidery

Drying ring

– Dab the water out with a clean towel
– Lay the placemat flat to dry, preferably on a clean sheet
– Avoid direct sunlight and hanging that can pull the embroidery edge

Ironing

– Iron on low to medium heat while fabric is slightly damp
– Use a clean piece of cotton (press fabric) between iron and linen
– Avoid ironing directly on the embroidery edge
