The Chapang people are an ethnic group in Nepal who have traditionally lived as nomads or semi-nomads. These groups, known as Chapang or Chapangi, are often marginalized communities and have historically had a low socio-economic status. Women in these communities play an important role in family life and society as a whole, but they often face challenges such as poverty, lack of education and limited access to healthcare and other basic services.
